At Christ the King, the wellbeing of our pupils, staff and parents is very important to us. Here are some ways we are improving awareness and support for mental health in our school:
FIT Team (Family Inclusion and Transition Team)
Our SENDCo lead (Mrs Wheeldon) and SENDCo support (Mrs Connell) work closely with our learning mentors to provide support to families throughout the school community. Together they support families with learning difficulties, special needs and pastoral care.
Mrs Hansrani and Miss Roberts are our school learning mentors.
Between the two of them, they cover both sites throughout the week. They providing pastoral care and support to everyone in our school community, primarily focusing on the children. They support the children's social, emotional, mental health wellbeing and behavioural needs.
If you would like to contact one of our mentors, please send an email to the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org
Children's Mental Health Week
This year we celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week during the w/c 1st February. The theme was 'Express Yourself' and was all about feeling free to express yourself in any way you want to.
Throughout the week children took part in a variety of activities aimed at supporting their wellbeing. Here are some examples of the activities encouraged.
